Our Staff
Our staff are passionate about animals and are here to make sure the pups have a safe play environment! They come from a variety of backgrounds, with most having previous experience and education based around dog behaviour or training. All staff members are sent to complete their Pet First Aid through St John Ambulance.
Samantha Lowe - Owner
October 2013 - Present
Samantha has been with the daycare since the very beginning! She has a personal connection with each dog that comes through the front door, always treating them like they are her own!
Sam has trained miniature horses her whole life, making sure they are sound and secure for other people to ride them at shows or for personal use around their farms. Her long term involvement in horses makes her comfortable with dogs of all shapes, sizes and energy levels!
Samantha has her pet first aid from St. John Ambulance & has a keen eye for dog behavior. She is looking to further her knowledge and understanding in animal behavior through classes in the future!
Brittany Green - Manager
2016 - Present
Brittany's extensive animal experience makes her an excellent addition to the BFDA staff. She completed a Bachelor of Science (Agr.) at NSAC in 2016, majoring in Animal Sciences where she studied animal health, behaviour and nutrition.
Her passion for animals started at a young age, and she has always had a special touch for connecting with shy pets.
Joining the team over 7 years ago, she has grown with the company and has been a part of many big changes over the years.
She owns a 10 1/2 year old boxer named Bandit, as well as a pony named Ruby back home. When she is not at the daycare, you can find her adventuring with her partner Colin and all the animals they love and care for!
Sarah Garland - Assistant Manager
2021 - Present
Sarah joined our team in the summer of 2021 while completing hours for her vet assistant course and has been here ever since! Her love for animals started at a young age, and she currently owns a 12yr old cat named Lily as well as two hamsters, Nimby & Alfy. She is looking forward to getting a pup of her own one day, but for now she shares her puppy love with all of her daycare friends!

Janice MacDonald - Assistant Manager
2019 - Present
Janice has always had a passion for animal welfare and has been working with animals in a professional capacity for over 10 years now, including the past 4 years with us! In her spare time she loves being outdoors and hanging out with her own pets, including her two pups Lux & Stanley who you will often see trotting around the daycare with her!

We are continuing to help out people looking to extend their education in animal services.
We accept volunteers and students from various education programs in the HRM, so you may see different faces around the facility due to this! :)
